Introducing Atsuko Clement
The first Scottish country dance workshop Atsuko attended was in Japan in 1975, and she attended the Society’s Summer School in 1979, when she became totally hooked by it. She came to Edinburgh in 1981 to learn more about the background and history of Scottish county dancing, and is still here today!
Atsuko gained her full certificate in 1983, and danced in the Branch Festival show for many years, teaching Branch classes, along with classes in many countries and at the RSCDS Summer Schools. Atsuko also teaches Ladies Step dance classes and workshops in many countries, including St Andrews, TAC and NZ summer schools. She is now an RSCDS examiner.
She is eager to pass on her knowledge and experience, as she was lucky enough to gain from so many wonderful legendary teachers.
