Introducing Roddy Johnson
Roddy studied classical accordion from age of 10. In the 60’s he won a place in the finals of the All British Accordion Championships and played with the UK championship Accordion Orchestra. Roddy also taught the accordion for a number of years before a career change took him away from music. Thirty-five years later he returned to the accordion and his love for traditional Scottish music has determined his musical direction. He plays regularly for RSCDS classes, workshops and dances and played for groups across the UK, Canada and Europe. He also plays the Scottish Small Pipes and composes music.
